Stewardship is about being grateful, responsible caretakers of the gifts we receive from God. It is using the gifts God has given us, to do the work God is calling us to do both as individuals and as the Church. The Episcopal Church sees stewardship as more than simply contributing money to the church; it’s also about contributing time and talents, and volunteering for ministry and mission. It’s about reaching out to build relationships by sharing with others God’s gift in our lives.
Stewardship is lived out by living and telling the Good News; sharing God in seeking justice, peace, and the integrity of creation in an interdependent universe; wisely employing God-given human resources, abilities, and relationships; sharing the material resources we hold and giving them in service, justice, and compassion; providing for future generations, sharing in the life, worship, and responsible stewardship of the Church and of its mission. Both for the individual and for the community, stewardship is a joyful act for the sake of God's world.
St. Michael's conducts its annual Pledge Drive in the late fall for the coming calendar year. If you would like to make a pledge to St. Michael's at any time, or to enquire about an existing pledge or record of giving, please contact Suzanne Moore at the parish office.
“For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has–not according to what one does not have.” (2 Corinthians 8:12)
