Welcome is the ministry of hospitality and welcoming a stranger into our community of faith is like welcoming Jesus into our lives. At St. Michael’s we welcome people initially by giving them homemade bread as a symbol of the body of Christ as well as a packet of information. The bread is made with love by either Sylvia Crucet or Charles Bradley. We try and listen to the newcomer and learn a little about their life and their journey to our church. We love to meet the newcomer and chat while drinking coffee or a cool glass of iced tea in a location of their choice. The welcome team members that share in this ministry are: LaVetta and Nelson Dent, Pat Lynch, Adam and Betty Falato. As a team we don’t have many meetings but when needed we contact each other either by phone or email. One of the sheets in the packet shares a list of our various ministries: outreach, worship and fellowship. In sharing our list of ministries, we hope the newcomer can connect with something we have at church. We encourage newcomers to fill out our information card we have in the packet so we can keep the lines of communication open. At various times during the year we have welcome lunches which further enhances this new bond of friendship and faith. We try to be intentional in the welcoming of all people that our God has created in His image. We strive to keep our loving arms open to anyone that enters our church and wishes to be a part of our community of faith. So, come and worship with us!
